With the majority of attendees are women it is NOT acceptable that not an appropriate number of toilets are provided for women. It's always the question in the interval: Having a drink, going for a little walk, having a chat OR queueing for the toilet? The Globe theatre and the St.James Theatre provide sufficient capacities.
In this country there are laws for/against every possible discrimination but simple maths or common sense for aknowleging the need for a higher number of LADIES is met with pure ignorance. Even the new home of the Arcola theatre doesn't make an effort to get it right. Build some "unisex" facilities in the spirit of Ally McBeal and if men behave this might work as a temporarily solution.
Otherwise I would strongly advocate for cutting financial support to all institutions that do not provide facilities in proportion to their customers/staff.
